Think about how you feel about work when you wake up in the morning. Are you dreading it, or can you hardly wait to get going? I guess most people have mixed feelings about work. Some days are good and others not that good. Wouldn’t it be great to wake up every morning with an urge in the body to start the day and get to work? For the big majority of people, I believe that work is a necessity and a way to finance their lives. So many people feel stuck and do not dare to pursue their dreams because they have bills to pay, and their job pays the bills. Most people simply work to make a living rather than work to make a life. I used to be like that.
In 2015 I discovered ASEA. Not only the amazing life changing and unique technology, but also the very generous business plan they offer. I started my business as a side hustle in pockets of time, but very soon I realised I had to get more involved. I woke up in the morning longing to be able to spend my entire day doing the ASEA work that I loved. Whenever I was able to get in front of people and share what I knew I felt energised and refreshed. I realised that I had found my passion and that this passion gave me power!
Did you know that pursuing your passion can improve your general wellbeing? It does not necessarily have to be about work. Studies show that doing something you are passionate about outside of work can benefit both your career and your personal life. If you are passionate about your work, it brings a sense of belonging, it gives more personal satisfaction, and you do a better job. And if you are passionate about something outside your work it can benefit your work situation. I call this a win-win situation.
Through my entrepreneurial journey I have met a lot of people with low self-confidence. When they find their passion, the self-confidence is increasing. When we find a true passion it prevents us from worrying anymore about what people think of us and we can start live our passion. When I started to live a life on my own premises instead of a life I thought was accepted by others I experienced a lower job-related stress level. Do not misunderstand me, I still experience stress, but it is another type of stress. Now I have an internal passion and motivation for doing what I do. My experience is that when I live my passion and enjoy my work I can hardly wait for my next work day to start. This is despite the fact that hardly anyone from my family or my friends supports me, understands what I am doing and are not even interested in asking me about my work. I do not care, because this is my passion and I have created a wonderful life where I can live my life to the fullest every day.
In an earlier post I have discussed the fact that most people will not regret things they did, but rather things they never did. I meet so many individuals dreaming of a better life, but when I ask them about their plans to achieve their dreams very few have a plan. I believe it boils down to that they still have not found their passion.
I encourage you to take a risk and bet on yourself and find your passion. It might not happen overnight, so look at it as a journey. Keep trying and exploring new things, be openminded and positive and it will appear. If you always are turning down opportunities that are offered, being closeminded with no curiosity to explore, how can you then find your true passion? When you finally find what you are passionate about, or think you are passionate about – act on it. There is nothing worse than having all the passion in the world, but you don’t do anything about it. Then your passion would be totally wasted and useless. If it does not work out exactly as you would have hoped, you will have still learned a lot.
I believe the reason so many people are not pursuing their passion is because they have a lot of self-doubt and fear. People are insecure about whether they can succeed professionally, financially, and emotionally. If you need a new skill-set to accomplish your passion take the time and learn it. If you know where you are going it is okay to take a small step at a time.
One step at a time, towards your new life, will force you to expand your comfort zone. Not overnight, but slowly. I continued my normal life at the same time as I pursued my new adventure on the side. My journey slowly shifted as my passion became stronger. Before I knew it, I was all-in and was living my life to the fullest.
Passion towards work, towards a hobby, towards a person, it does not matter what sort of passion it is, if you want it to grow you need to nurture it. Just like a plant needs water, passion needs to be nurtured on a regular basis. For me and my passion, the best way to have it grow is to share it with others. I would LOVE to share it with you. When you know what it’s all about you have the power to decide if you want to pursue it or not.
I am so grateful that I found my passion in 2015, and that I acted on it. Being able to do what I love is a very joyful way of living and I truly feel that I am doing what I was called to do. #wepowerpotential every day!
